The Role
A world-renowned interiors and furniture design company is seeking an entrepreneurial New Business Consultant to raise the visibility of the business. The company works in high profile projects within hotel, commercial and residential developments. This role is a great opportunity for someone from the architecture or design industry witha business development or sales background to expand a creative companies business. You will be responsible for creating new business by targeting potential new clients and companies, researching and prospecting new clients via architects, designers and direct client contact as well as managing existing relationships with suppliers, manufacturing partners and existing clients while increasing the visibility of the brand. You will accurately forecast future workload by creating schedules, budgets and quotes from detailed briefs and generate cohesive and relevant proposals from briefs. You will also propose FF and E solutions with relevant documentation for client projects, turn them into contracts and pass them over to the project management and account management teams. As the New Business Consultant, you will also plan and forecast major project wins to manage and exceed sales targets. You will visit showrooms and suppliers to gain product knowledge, building a network of contacts while researching, assessing and reporting back on the market and competitors on a quarterly basis. In Addition, you will control costs by requesting quotes and detailing spreadsheets, delivering a strong sales profit, generating client contracts and providing accurate costs and quotes to the Project Manager, contributing to profitability of the overall business.

The successful candidate should be an expert networker with an entrepreneurial mind-set and proven experience in generating new business and hitting sales targets. You should also have the ability to multitask on different projects with strong attention to detail accompanied with good market knowledge and experience in conducting competitor analysis. It is essential that you have a compelling style and confidence when dealing with clients of all levels along with strong presentation skills and excellent relationship management skills. Lateral thinking with the ability to adjust your style to create results on a client brief will also be required for this role.
