The Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) Department are looking to an enthusiastic, forward- thinking Consultant in Otolaryngology who has a specialist interest in Head & Neck Oncology. This is a substantive replacement post. The Role Join a large team of specialists providing a full range of ENT and Head & Neck surgery Undertake general ENT clinics and theatre sessions, including clinics at peripheral sites in South East Hampshire, West Sussex and the Isle of Wight. Required to take part in the Acute ENT on call rota. We’re looking for; An enthusiastic and motivated colleague. Full GMC registration with a licence to practice. Previous experience in Head and Neck surgery would be an advantage. A fellowship in Advanced Head & Neck Surgery would be an advantage. The Department The ENT Department is based within the Head and Neck Clinical Services Centre, which comprises the Departments of: ENT and Audio-Vestibular Medicine, Audiology, Maxillo-Facial Surgery and Ophthalmology. Queen Alexandra Hospital is a large modern acute medical facility with a state of the art ITU, large theatre complex and an on-site Radiotherapy and Oncology centre. The ENT Department provides a full range of emergency and elective ENT services. These include: Specialist Otology (including cochlear implantation, bone anchored hearing aids and middle ear prostheses), Specialist Rhinology, Paediatric ENT, Head and Neck Surgery, Facial Plastic Surgery and Skull Base Surgery. The Head and Neck Unit is housed on Ward D8. This is a dedicated unit for all Head & Neck inpatients with an ambulatory service for emergency care. There is also a large audiology department and the department benefits from the presence of two Consultants in Audiovestibular Medicine. The main outpatient department is situated at the QAH site. Peripheral out patient clinics are undertaken across South East Hampshire and West Sussex sites. The post holder may be required to undertake such peripheral clinics.
