The Role: The Field Service Technician works within the Technical Services Team and is responsible for providing the technical support skills to our customers, both onsite and remotely. On a day to day basis, they are focused on installing and supporting network devices, PCs and servers for our customers. Additional duties include remote and onsite troubleshooting, facilitating customer ads, moves & changes, customer rollouts, and other project basis installs. There will also be an On Call requirement of not more than 1 week in 4. This will be an excellent opportunity to develop additional Networking and Server technical skills as additional training will be provided. The Company: The company is a market leading and an award winning IT service provider specializing in IT Support Services, Manager IT Services & Professional IT Services. Currently to add to their growing team of field based service technicians. The role offers an uncapped package including overtime, training & progression. Responsibilities: • Pre-sales support o Requirement analysis, solution specification and design o Writing scope and quote documents o Assist with technical tender responses • Implementation o Pre-stating of routing and switch installations according to documentation o Installation and support of varied desktop and server estate o Installations of network equipment at varied customer location UK wide o Project based site survey and documentation o Project based end-to- end solution and design • Post-sales support o Assist with customer ad, move and change requirements o Onsite support of customer faults o Site visits to access and swap non-function equipment Role requirements: • Knowledge of the following would be advantageous: o Cisco, Draytek, Zyxel, Netgear routers o Cisco, 3com and HP switches o 1st/2nd line PC hardware and Microsoft desktop and server support • Desired certifications o Cisco CCNA and/or CCNA Security o Microsoft MCP/MCSA o CompTIA A+, Network + Fundamental to this role: • Extremely well organized with good communication skills and excellent spoken/ written English. • Experience providing network and PC/Server field engineering services to high profile customers. • A flexible approach to work and prepared “go to the extra mile” to exceed customer expectations. • Applies knowledge and skills through handling problems beyond own area of expertise. • Full UK driving license.
