Role Purpose We are now actively recruiting for a Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Human Factors and Projects Manager for a permanent role in our Top Tier COMAH Manufacturing site in Huddersfield. Situated in the Health, Safety, Environment, & Quality department and reporting directly to the Operational Safety and Security Manager, this person will provide leadership, direction and expertise in all elements of Human Factors in order that Huddersfield’s Manufacturing Centre’s statutory and corporate obligations are met. The successful person will be a subject matter expert on site and advise the business at all levels Accountabilities The HSE Human Factors and Projects Manager is responsible for: Providing human factors expertise and facilitation to the site, so as to deliver enhanced HSE outcomes. In particular: human error assessment and control, critical procedure, process and plant design, documentation design, format & review, fatigue, and shift work, safety critical communication, competence & training, organisational change risk assessment and incident investigation Maintaining a comprehensive knowledge of relevant legislative, corporate requirements and advancements in the field of human factors. Leading the provision of awareness, education and training of human factors, at all levels within the site and coaching in their application to raise the skill level. Developing and delivering the site human factors strategy and resultant improvement commitments, sustainably. Project managing and delivering HSE projects, acting as liaison between the HSE function and Manufacturing. Representing HMC in dialogue, contact and advocacy with human factors experts within the Health and Safety Regulatory Bodies, Agencies and Institutes. Maintaining external contacts in the area of human factors. Qualifications Critical Knowledge, Experience and Capabilities include: Human factors within a top tier Comah environment Academic technical qualification in Human Factors Chemical manufacturing environment Project planning, monitoring and delivery Ability to deal with the regulator and manage their expectations The ability to quickly learn and apply new skills Self-motivating & tenacious Analytical thinking with a questioning attitude Concern for impact Influences & gains commitment of key stakeholders in a compelling way Senses and adapts to the changing environment to achieve excellence in delivery Able to apply complex systems to Syngenta ways of working Able to collaborate effectively across organisation and functional boundaries to implement behavioural change Develop long term operational networks and relationships• Qualifications Chartered or Registered Membership of the Chartered Institute of Human Factors and Ergonomics (CIEHF) ( or working towards chartership) Job :Health Safety Environment
