Are you a skilled and personable HSE or Health & Safety Manager, who is adept at building rapport at all levels and readily able to break down legislation and processes to make them relevant to the party concerned, thereby gaining their understanding and buy-in to their importance? Have you worked within a complex manufacturing environment (Ideally ISO:14001 accredited), within a site of c400 employees or more? Are you passionate about the benefits of developing a positive culture of health and safety and environmental management, with excellent relationship building and communication skills? If so, the role of Health, Safety & Environmental Manager for this highly-regarded, global firm, could be exactly the challenge you seek. The role is offered as an interim, fixed-term (PAYE) contract of 12 months, to cover a period of maternity leave and will commence in August 2018 to allow a handover period. The role: * As the Interim Environment, Health & Safety Manager you will be required to maintain and promote the organisation’s current Environment, Health and Safety culture through working collaboratively with colleagues. * You will be responsible for ensuring the organisation is compliant with all its Environment, Health and Safety legal and regulatory requirements and provide advice and support on health and safety and environmental management issues across the site as required. * Maintain a General Risk Assessment Process to assess risk and address the subsequent actions agreed to implement control measures to minimise risk - Typically the manager would have experience with the following assessments: Manual Handling Assessments, COSHH assessments (including Management of Material Safety Datasheets), Noise Assessments, Management of Stress assessments, Display Screen Equipment assessments, etc. * To work with HR to provide an effective Occupational Health Service to minimise risk, identify reasonable adjustments through risk assessment and referrals to a qualified Occupational Health Physician, provision of rehabilitation programmes to protect the interests of individuals and the Company and support the Company’s Absence Management Programme. The person: * Proven experience of a Health & Safety Management role, within a complex Manufacturing Environment – Experience of ISO: 14001 will be advantageous * Industry NEBOSH Qualification * Excellent communication skills & the ability to build rapport at all levels * The persuasive skills to influence the behaviour of others. * A hands-on, positive approach to promoting Health & Safety * Good levels of I.T literacy & diligence in record keeping If you feel you have the requisite skills & experience to fulfil this position and are interested in learning more, please apply today for immediate consideration.
