Through our unique evidence-based approach, we are creating market opportunities for the commercial deployment of low carbon technologies including Hydrogen Fuel Cell vehicles, Heat Pumps and Smart Energy Technologies. As the company grows, we are looking to recruit a Graduate Engineer to support the team in the delivery of technical analysis for reports, policy papers and funding bids. The successful candidate will play a key role within the Ecuity team and will have the opportunity to work with senior executives within some of the UK and EU's leading energy companies, trade bodies, policy makers and politicians. Alongside the delivery of technical analysis, the Graduate Engineer will take a lead in the development of bids and funding proposals on behalf of both Ecuity and our clients. This is a new and exciting business area for the company and the successful candidate will have scope to shape and grow this area of the business with the support of the senior team at Ecuity. Location: Birmingham, UK Salary: Competitive + benefits and 23 days annual leave Start date: Negotiable Responsibilities will include: • Delivery of technical analysis and research for reports and policy papers. • Working with the Economics team to support with economic analysis and modelling. • Presenting analysis and modelling to industry leaders, clients and government officials. • Building and managing a database of open and upcoming funding calls and competitions • Consortium development – working with the commercial team to identify and bring together organisations to support the lead organisation (typically an Ecuity client or Ecuity itself) with a tender • Develop high quality technical content for bids, proposals and competitions We are seeking candidates with the following credentials: Essential • Educated to degree level in a technical field (engineering, sciences) • Ability to grasp technical concepts and understand the technical aspects of sustainable energy technologies. • Competent in the use of Microsoft office packages (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) • Good team worker, reliable and able to rapidly establish a high degree of trust, rapport and gain co-operation from the bid team • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities within own workload effectively • Strong attention to detail; maintaining high standards for delivery, quality and accuracy • The right to work in the UK prior to application Desirable • Strong communication skills both written and oral with the ability to take complex analysis or policy and condense into easily understood briefings, reports and presentations and present to internal and external audiences. • Experience or knowledge of the energy and/or sustainability sector Personal development is at the centre of our philosophy, so the successful candidate should anticipate considerable exposure working in co-ordination with government and industry leaders shaping the future of the low carbon economy.
