Job Purpose:

To deliver and organize a high-quality vocational business program. To ensure that a high-quality learning experience is provided to all students who undertake study within this program areas. To contribute to the curriculum design, planning and development processes. To participate in the selection, induction, support and assessment of students during their program(s) of study.

To contribute to the College’s aim of raising the skills levels of young people in Saudi Arabia, through the vocational subject area(s) of business. To encourage the values of enterprise and creativity to help students obtain employment through the enhancement of their career prospects and aspirations.

Main Responsibilities:

Teaching and the Curriculum

 To teach and monitor the delivery of the course(s) and to ensure that course documentation is completed

 To review the curriculum content and its delivery to ensure areas for improvement are identified

 To ensure all project briefs and schemes of work are comprehensive and prepared in accordance with the college specification and course quality standards

 To deliver the assessment process(es) for the course

 To ensure student records are kept up to date and meet with collegestandards

 To build links with appropriate employers and facilitate work experience and visits appropriate to the curriculum as required

 To consult with library staff to ensure that appropriate research and learning materials are available to meet curriculum needs

 To inform workshop staff of the practical workshop requirements for each brief, to plan projects in consultation with these staff to enable maximum utilization of resources.

People and staffing

 To contribute to and participate in staff development, training and research activities

Students

 To provide a high-quality learning experience for students

 To follow and participate in the college’s procedures for student interviews and induction

 To monitor student attendance on the course and ensure attendance standards are met

 To monitor the students’ welfare making referrals wherenecessary

 To act as a personal tutor for the business program in line with college procedures

Finance and resources

 To understand the course budgets within an expenditure profile

 To ensure that optimum use is made of all allocated resources

 To follow the college’s Financial Regulations and Procedures

 To ensure the production of high quality reports and updates, statistics and other documentation required by the Program Leader asrequired

Health, Safety and Security

 To ensure that relevant elements of Health and Safety are included in the curriculum particularly at induction;

 To follow college procedures for ensuring the security of the college;

 To adhere to and monitor the college’s Health and Safety policies and procedures.

General

 To be an ambassador and role model for the College and to actively promote its core values, safeguarding, health and safety and equality and diversity.

The following qualifications, qualities, skills and experience are considered necessary for this post:

 An appropriate academic or professional qualification at degree level or higher

 A teaching qualification at a minimum of a level 4 (CTLLS, DTLLS, PGCE, CERT ED, PGDE)

 Evidence of successful teaching within an appropriate context

 Experience of working within, or in partnership with industry

 Familiarity with the further education context

 Demonstrable organisational skills

 Good interpersonal and communication skills

 The qualities of a team player, including the ability to work flexibly and effectively with others
