Reference: DUR001372-KS-1 This global corporate currently has an exciting opportunity for a Financial Controller. This is a senior position and they require a Chartered Accountant that could potentially develop into a Financial Director in the future. Minimum Qualifications and Experience Required:- Associate Member of a globally recognised Chartered Accounting Institute (e.g. C.A. (S.A.) / CIMA). Minimum 8 years experience / approx. 5 years post qualification in a Commercial environment. Computer literate, i.e. proficient in SAP, MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint). Purpose of the Role:- Play a significant role in developing the culture and identity of the finance team and broader business and be a sounding board / sparring partner for the Financial Director. Support the Financial Director in business strategy development and lead annual business planning process ensuring clear investment decisions across the P&L lines. Drive good governance and controls across the business and lead risk management. Continue to build outsource relationships and pioneer new simplified and automated ways of working in the finance team. Ensure complete, accurate, compliant and timely accounting records are maintained. Management of treasury, tax, external and internal audit, insurance, banking. Accountabilities:- Leadership & Management: Actively participating in the overall business management by constructively contributing to the LEAD team and living the Core Values. Motivating and developing direct. High focus on maturing the finance talent and building a succession pipeline. Accounting & Treasury: Responsible for the full MU accounting function: Accounts Payable, General Ledger, monthly, quarterly and annual closing. Lead Annual Business Planning process, quarterly forecasts and delivery of relevant KPI’s. Responsible for Treasury activities (cash flows, investments and forex risk management). Governance & Controls, Insurance and Tax Management: Lead and embed governance and controls across Purchase to Pay and steer the overall control framework (including OTC, MTD & RTR) and continually improve the control framework. Responsible for Statutory and Tax management in the dedicated MU to ensure compliance with company and external requirements. Financial Processes: Monitor the effective and efficient further development of all structures and processes within the finance team. Abilities:- Strong people and culture focus and ability in the formation, leadership and development of teams. Strong understanding of accounting, controls and core finance processes. Highly developed analytical skills combined with business acumen.
