Research Ethicist and Coordinator (EKE397) Bloemfontein R308 000 R398 000 per annum plus benefits (TCTC R440 000 R560 000 per annum) Closing date: 22nd November 2018 Postgraduate degree and ethics qualification. Three (3) to four (4) years research ethics and research management experience. Coordinate and support activities of the human and animals research ethics committees at the University Strengthen intellectual capacity and infrastructure in research ethics. Consult with the research ethics committee (including the human research ethics committees i.e. health and general human research ethics), animal ethics committee and biosafety committee. Consult and liaise with the research community on research ethics. Consult and liaise with the Senate Research Ethics Committee to ensure alignment and compliance with university, national and international policies and requirements on research ethics. Implement systems to measure, monitor and improve the efficiency, accountability, service ethos and regulatory compliance of all the research ethics committees Support the development of research ethics capacity through education, training and information dissemination. Support administration of research ethics committees. Provide support and guidance to researchers with regard to obtaining approval for ethics protocols. Facilitate review of research ethics protocols. Analyse and interpret data and draft regular internal reports relating to research ethics. Support the verification and tracking of researcher certifications and qualifications related to research ethics. Ensure site inspections and registration. Represent University in national and local ethics forums. Provide input into Ethics policies and guidelines with regards to all the Research Ethics processes. Train Researchers and Ethics Committee Members the principles of research ethics. Closing date: 22nd November 2018
