Reference: Paa000985-D-1 Our client in Franschhoek is looking fora Security and Terrain Assistant. The ideal candidate will assist the Estate Manager to manage, maintain and co-ordinate the following key areas: Security (Infrastructure, systems and service providers) Infrastructure and Facilities (Water reticulation; Electricity supply; Roads; Storm water, Sanitation, Buildings, etc.) REQUIRMENTS: Grade 12 Certificate PSIRA Registered Grade A Unendorsed driver’s license Must be able to Communicate In English as well as Afrikaans both verbal and written Successful completion of some formal education in security and maintenance of water and electricity supply infrastructure Any technical or applicable after school qualifications would be advantageous Security and Maintenance planning experience is an added advantage. Minimum of 3 years supervisory experience in a similar working environment, with specific reference to security, operations and maintenance Expert knowledge of security and maintenance environment i.e. Security systems, Large-scale water supply infrastructure, electrical equipment and installations, building site management, Health & Safety, roads and infrastructure, garden maintenance, security Installations and management. Excellent contract management and project management Sound interpersonal skills and IT skills. (MS Word, Excel, security systems). Valid unendorsed drivers licence. Previous SAPS or SANDF experience would be advantageous Good working knowledge of management practises and principles Critical thinking skills and observant Neat and well Groomed Healthy and fit Clear criminal record KEY DUTIES: Security The Employee will in conjunction with the Estate Manager: Develop and Implement security policies, protocols and procedures (i.e Grade A PSIRA) Supervise, develop, train, supervise security officers and guards and manage service providers. Coordinate staff when responding to emergencies and alarms Review reports on incidents and breaches Conduct and supervise daily investigations of security related incidents and compile incident reports. Identify, investigate, or resolve security breaches Monitor and report on service provider non-conformances in line with service level agreements. Assist with vetting of security credentials for service providers. Enforce rules and penalties as per Estate requirements. Carry out safety and risk assessments and take steps to mitigate risks in conjunction with the Security Service Providers. Dealing with emergency situations such as fire, disaster and industrial action. Ensure annual service of security, safety and fire equipment. Ensure security technical equipment and systems are operational. Provide feedback at Exco meetings as and when requested. Assist with security projects when required. Ensure superior home owner and customer service from service providers and security staff. Control budgets for estate security operations, and monitor and manage expenses. Perform daily assessments/ audits of the estate security, systems and service providers. Attend meetings where necessary both internally and externally (community) in the interests of improving the estates overall safety & security. Coordination and response to emergency situations. Submit regular reports on the security status for the estate management. Submit proposals for improvements regarding security, safety at the estate (Technology / Physical / Manpower / Procedures) Responsible for access control policy implementation. Liaison with the security service providers for day-to-day operations and incident management. Providing the Estate Manager of a yearly budget for security maintenance and repairs. Monitor and report daily on all operations regarding security. Prepare monthly security report. Prepare quarterly security report. Keeping registers, logbooks for different areas of responsibility, e.g. shift reports, variation reports, occupancy zone reports, hand-over reports, incident reports, security audit reports, and any other registers, schedules or reports required from time to time. Infrastructure and Facilities Building, general and terrain maintenance supervision, coordination and assistance to perform the jobs required daily. Management and coordination of maintenance and repairs of buildings, water reticulation systems, electricity supply, roads, storm water and sanitation systems, refuge collection, etc. Health and safety; Project management, supervising and coordinating the work of contractors or service providers; Obtaining quotes for work and calculating and comparing costs for required goods or services to achieve maximum value for money; Ensuring the buildings and operations meets health and safety requirements and that facilities comply with legislation; Ensuring that there is a facilities maintenance program (in liaison with the Estate Manager) and it is adhered to; Providing the Estate Manager of a yearly budget for infrastructure and facility maintenance and repairs. Checking that agreed work by staff or contractors has been completed satisfactorily and following up on any deficiencies; Coordinating and leading one or more teams to cover various areas of responsibility; Responding appropriately to emergencies or urgent issues as they arise and dealing with the consequences. Maintenance, inspection and testing for all of the fire safety equipment and systems, keeping records and certificates of compliance. Keeping registers, logbooks for different areas of responsibility, e.g. building sites, generator, reservoir, electrical fences, line of site of cameras, vehicles, dams and dam walls, outlook deck, water pressure checks, and any other registers, schedules or reports required from time to time.
