A suitably experienced FINANCIAL CONTROLLER from the Financial Engineering sector is required in Richards Bay to perform the Financial Control duties for the company. Supporting the Financial Manager, including all other departments of the plant. Minimum application requirements include; Bachelor’s degree in business school, or finance Minimum of 10 years of experience in financial controlling. Manufacturing and/or Engineering industry exposure (advantage) SAP experience. Preference will be given to BEE candidates and candidates located in Richards Bay. Experience witha reputable Manufacturing or Engineering or Multinational company (advantage) ACCA, CA, CPA or equivalent internationally-recognized professional qualification Business school, MBA, Master’s degree in finance or a degree in financial engineering Applications are welcome from South African Citizens. Financial Control and Reporting; 65% - Following up all the projects (Sales Prices and Gross Margin) from their booking to their completion: ensuring the Gross Margin at booking is correctly calculated and following up it until the 100% completion of the project – 60% 5% - Following up the Inventories of the Workshop: calculating their valuation and eventually their depreciation 5 % - Following up the Productive Hours, allocated or not to projects 5 % - Calculating on a monthly basis the KPIs used by the management (turnover, WIP level, DSO, etc) 5% - Performing the requested analysis as per management request, as for example the profitability per product lines 10% - Assisting the Financial Manager to prepare the Monthly and Quarterly Reports to the Group and the Statutory Financial Statements 5% - Preparing all the documentation requested by the auditors related to the Corrected Gross Margin Skills & Competency Requirments; Strong capacity to anticipate problems and meet deadlines Structured and dynamic Good interpersonal skills (as (s)he will have to deal with all levels of the company) Highly analytical with demonstrated talent for identifying, scrutinizing, improving, and streamlining complex work processes Strong ability to take distance from the figures and match the figures with reality Provide a work of a high quality standard. Accountabilities; Revenue recognition Inventory accounting Accruals Cost accounting / cost classification / costs follow-up Project follow-up / review / follow-up of gross margin Stock follow- up and reconciliation / participation to stock take Control of hours Preparation of Monthly cash report Preparation of Monthly activity report Support and preparation of budget process Various analyses if required by Managing Director Problem solving; Stringent deadlines require excellent time management and stress management skills. To build and maintain a good relationship with the other departments of the company which will be key to job success. Key relationships; FSSA managers and employees in Richards Bay and Johannesburg. External customers and consultants. Internal / External Impacts; Knowledge of the Process is required to operate, monitor and maintain direct area of accountability and complete necessary wor as per the accountabilities mentioned above. Understand how changes to process conditions affect the area process outputs and how this impacts on other areas of the site from a compliance perspective. Minimum Requirements and Experience required; This position is based in Richards Bay. (Traveling for interviews will be at the applicants own cost). Financial Accounting Degree Proven working experience as a Financial Controller 5+ years of overall accounting and finance experience Experience with general ledger functions and month end close processes Revenue recognition experience.
